The Yamnin Dragon Fortress Guard is the elite force of the Astra Militarum Imperial Guard within the sole capital of Yamnin. Much like the elite Kasrkin of Cadia, they are trained through the rigorous selection of the Loyalist Academy within Yamnin. Equipped with the strongest defensive gear, capabilities, and tactics found among mortal troops, they excel in defensive warfare, effectively utilizing the structures of the Great Wall and the city.

Having been isolated for millennia by the warp, the Yamnin Mechanicus operates independently of Martian oversight. With limited access to 40K Astra Militarum equipment brought by those few who managed to traverse the warp, the Yamnin Tech-Priests tend to provide the Yamnin Astra Militarum Imperial Guard with upgraded gear infused with a small amount of legacy 30K technology. The Dragon Fortress Guard is outfitted with heavy armor that combines ceramic-steel and plastisteel, while other parts of their bodies are protected by Yamnin culture's ballistic plastisteel vests. Each soldier features a personal force field generator on their back and a small shield on their left arm to protect vital organs; their overall defensive capabilities and survivability even surpass those of the Solar Auxilia from the 30K era.

In terms of weaponry, they are armed with an improved tri-barrel variant of the M36 Kantrael Pattern Lasgun, akin to the weapon of the elite Guardian Spea, capable of firing a concentrated barrage of lasers for intense suppression. Additionally, when charged, it can deliver devastating damage. In close combat, it can serve as a melee weapon, and equipping it with a blade provides versatility for both ranged and close-quarters combat.

As the elite of the Yamnin Astra Militarum Imperial Guard, the Dragon Fortress Guard only deploys in the most dire circumstances of defense. Their presence and formidable defensive capabilities serve to inspire others; even the mightiest foes find it exceedingly difficult to breach their lines. They stand as the last hope and strongest shield of Yamnin City.
