The De facto Ruler of Yamnin — Planetary Governor
As the incumbent Planetary Governor of the Yamnin system — a grim, hinterland cluster of worlds isolated from the Imperium by the warp for nearly ten millennia — he is unlike other imperial governors. The Yamnin Governorship is a hereditary office sworn to keep a titanic secret buried in the hive-capital’s subterranean heart: a mysterious Webway gate entrusted millennia ago by the progenitor “Chagoris’s Eagle” (Chagoris‑type patron or founder, here styled as Chagoris’s Eagle) and the Khan before their passage into the Labyrinthine corridors. It is, as far as the Imperium knows, the sole Webway portal that can be traced directly to Terra.
The current Planetary Governor stands at the centre of the Yamnin saga. From childhood he possessed an intellect and resolve rivaling the councils of some Space Marine chapters — an austerely visionary mind, tempered by a genuine concern for his people. He bears no psychic gift and his constitution is frail; he grew up closely bonded with a younger brother who is an Alpha‑grade psyker. The brother, spared the purges by virtue of his bloodline, was instead forged into Yamnin’s master psyker — a man that the Yamnin Inquisition (or Tribunal) both covets for knowledge of the secret and regards as a hostage to control the regime.
Although physically weak, the Governor’s aptitude for technology proved extraordinary. He was apprenticed at a young age to the Chief Magos of the Yamnin Cult Mechanicus. Were it not for the limits imposed by station and blood, that Magos would have declared him one of the Mechanicus’s greatest minds. Their relationship remains intimate and mutually reinforcing: by his influence the Governor elevated peers to the ruling Magi of Yamnin’s Machine Cult and backed radical programmes to proliferate field‑barrier shielding across nearly every Yamnin soldier. Scavenged strands of Imperium technology that drift through the warp to Yamnin have been reverse‑engineered, then refined with Yamnin‑specific innovations he authorised — producing some of the most formidable defensive equipment fielded by any Imperial stellar force in the 41st millennium.
Armament and War‑gear
His frail body forces reliance on exquisitely engineered power armour. His natural thighs were replaced with hovering augmetic legs; his bespoke power battle‑shell is forged wholly from Adamantium. Coupled with the Artificer Adamantium Storm Shield and Artificer Iron Halo, his defensive envelope exceeds that of many Imperial Guard contingents. Having only undergone limited physical augmentation, his weak frame cannot comfortably wield a standard Ecclesiarchal lasgun; instead he bears a custom Yamnin three‑barrelled las‑carbine as his primary armament.
Beyond his own hands, the power shell’s backpack houses two additional pairs of servo‑arms under direct neural control, giving him six manipulators with which to wield storm shields and multiple three‑barrel las‑weapons — a terrible advantage in both defence and close quarters. In major engagements he can mount the lower half of the legendary Yamnin creature — the Dragon — a draconic, hovering combat harness that embodies the apogee of Yamnin Mechanicus craft. His augmetic legs retract into the dragon hull, leaving only his upper body exposed and linked to the drake‑frame. The dragon’s carapace is Adamantium, its tail ends in a colossal power‑blade, and its flanks bristle with several micro‑missile launch nests. Worn as a whole, the Dragon harness transforms him into a walking bastion — the ultimate synthesis of offence and defence. If the chassis is grievously damaged it can jettison and revert to a humanoid fighting platform.
In full war rig he can, for limited spans, tenuously withstand assaults from Abaddon’s warhost, holding superiority over ordinary Chaos Space Marines.
